Been saving this Collate dress for ages, finally managed to squeeze in w/o a tummy bulge yesterday! Yays! And if you’ve followed me on IG, you would have already known that the hubs brought me to National Kitchen by Violet Oon for a birthday high tea treat 🙂
MOTD of the day includes a few of my favorite things:
• Urban Decay Naked Skin Color Correcting Fluid
• La Mer Soft Fluid Long Wear Foundation
• MAC Studio Sculpt Concealer (discontinued)
• Marc Jacobs Highliner Gel Crayon in Blacquer (to line waterline, the least smudge ever)
• Bobbi Brown Longwear Liquid Liner in Carbon Black (my new fave)
• Diorshow Iconic Curl Mascara
• Hourglass Ambient Blush in Diffused Heat
• Charlotte Tilbury Hollywood Lips in Screen Siren (love the color not the applicator)
All thanks to bb Kymm who recently dayred about it and got me all excited to try! I love a good nyona/local infused high tea to the traditional English high tea with scones and what not. In fact, I really hate scones 🙊 It just taste like dry crumbly bread only made better with creams and jams – which I also happen to dislike…
Anyway the savory part is reallllyy good, we love them all! But kinda died at the top tier and suffered from food coma right after.
I’m not really a sweet tooth kinda person but I do love my kuehs. Unfortunately, we find the Kueh Dah Dah a little too sweet and the Kueh Lapis Sago too dry for our liking. Love the good old Kueh Lapis Light and Roti Jala with Gula Melaka and Banana Sauce though!
Actually, it could even be shared among 3 pax if your appetite is quite small.
Afterall, you must order the dry laksa that’s so amazing, it sure whet our appetite for more! #Notsponsored to say this #husbandpayieat
I don’t know what possessed us to order this chili crab mantou when I was already bursting, but Akira ordered it anyway cuz that’s like one of his favorite food.
All I did was stole some of his crabmeat to try and sour plum lover here declares that it is salty. Good job well done 😜 So don’t order this k? Skip it for their other light bites, they are cheaper too.
For the Singapore High Tea Set, you get to choose between coffee or tea, so tea it is for us.
3 choices: english breakfast, chendol or oolong. Chendol was quite interesting and smelt really strongly of pandan. We also choose oolong to cleanse our palate~
Overall, I seriously love the ambience and won’t mind bringing my family back here again for I know they will love it too. Service is on point and attentive, price is reasonable (think Arteastiq high tea). Food wise, it’s subjective for we all have different taste buds, so I reckon it’s still worth giving a go if you’re keen.
Not a very flattering pic but oh wells, at least it’s a rare pic of us two! Haha.
While we were still struggling with food coma, we took a little detour to Boufe where le hubs got me my b’day 🦄 cake! Nevertheless, thank you my sweet hubby for the pampering day out and just simply going out of your way to make this day extra special. x
