Fenty Beauty Highlighter Duo in Girl Next Next Door/Chic Preak

Beauty junkies would have known about the Rihanna’s much anticipated makeup line that took the beauty world by storm – especially the huge variety of foundation shades and universal lip gloss to cater to ladies of all colors! It certainly is a beauty launch worth celebrating for. I myself fell for Fenty Beauty Killawatt Freestyle Highlighter Duo since I’m kind of in a highlighting phase right now and just wanted to add it to my hoarding collection 😡

Contrary to popular opinion, I actually hesitated on splurging with Fenty Beauty solely because of the packaging. That flimsy white plastic that’s ever slightly holographic reminded me of H&M’s packaging, and that itself made me think twice before splurging $50 on something I don’t really need. But oh wells, I bought my Fenty Beauty Killawatt Freestyle Highlighter Duo in Girl Next Door/Chic Preak anyway, after thinking about it all week!

“You can use this on any part of your face — your eyes, your cheeks, your nose bridge, your collarbone,” explains Rihanna.”

… That’s what every beauty junkie needs to hear and justify for her purchase right? :p I fell in love with the crazy shimmer that sparkles throughout the day. Girl Next Door is like a frosty pink that’s perfect as a highlighter while Chic Preak is a peachy metallic coral that gives you a healthy glow. Though neither are pigmented enough to be worn as a blusher alone, unless you’re just looking for that subtle glow like I do (which was why I picked this duo), boy do they shine when layered on a blusher! The smooth powder feels weightless and easy to blend on my cheeks.

However if I were to compare with brands of similar value, I would much rather stick to Hourglass as it gave me better satisfaction as a whole (packaging, product and price), with stronger color intensity in the products that last on my skin for ages. I wouldn’t consider it a huge loss if you decided not to splurge on the highlighters from this range. x
