Being blessed and cursed at the same time with dark bushy brows, it has never been on my list of beauty adventures to try out eyebrow embroidery. In fact, I have time and again turned down collaborations since I don’t find the need to. Why the sudden change of mind?
Through the years of plucking and waxing my brows, I’ve started noticing that certain parts of my eyebrows aren’t growing anymore.. leaving it looking quite awkward and not as polished as before. Although a simple touch up with my eyebrow pencils will do the trick (as seen above), I could never master the art of shaping/drawing my brows. So why not have a “template” done up for me and I shall adjust accordingly.
This being my first time actually taking any interest in eyebrow embroidery, I’ve done my research through reliable testimonials of fellow beauty bloggers before making a decision. What sets Arch Angel brow apart from the rest of the market was their famous Korea Combo Eyebrow Embroidery that doesn’t make you look like crayon shin right after the session, and they promise no downtime either~ Expect natural-looking from microblading techniques to ensure beautifully groomed brows created by strokes to mimic your hair while filling up the empty spots!
Although Arch Angel Brow first opened its doors in July 2015, Kelly (the lady boss) actually has more than 10 years of experience in this industry. I was pretty impressed to note how Kelly likes to practice drawing eyebrows (strand by strand) to pass time and she ensures that her employees do the same too; if that doesn’t show a high level of dedication in perfecting her line of work, I don’t know what is. Without a doubt, I was in good hands as she started drawing my brow.. We agreed on one with a slight arch, just the way I like it, to make my eyes look more lifted as compared to the downwards, droopy brows I’m born with.
Do you know that with Arch Angel Korea Combo Eyebrow Embroidery, you can even choose the color to best suit your hair color? That sounded like a blessing to me since my hair is always in different shades of ash, resulting in the need for me to color my eyebrow just so it won’t look too harsh for my face. Using only 100% natural botanical pigments from Korea, one need not fear that your brows will turn red/bluish in time, it just fades to oblivion. As this is only a semi-permanent technique, you can expect it to last for 1.5 to 3 years with minimal touch up.
With numbing cream, the entire process was close to painless, I’ll give it a 1/10. At one point I even dozed off and jerked myself awake, given us both a huge shock. LOL! Since I was so pleased with the results, I decided to entrust my virgin eyelash extension to Kelly as well. Just in time for my Tokyo trip! I was actually very tempted to try out their eyeliner embroidery service but didn’t want to risk anything right before my trip.. might as well try something I’ve always been curious about right?
Just when I thought she couldn’t be more meticulous with my brows, she went ahead and proved me wrong with how attentive she was to my lashes. Lash by lash she glued them on, and since my eyes were pretty big, it took double the time and effort to complete them :B I believe the picture above says it all, who would have known that little facial features we tend to take for granted makes such a huge impact? What I love most is how energized my eyes look without the need of my good old eyeliner; my eyebrow now look much more groomed and lifted while the eyelash extension helps perk my peepers!
Zero maintenance and after-care needed. Perfect for lazy old me~ This is probably one of the rare trip I made without heavily relying on my eyeliner and worry much about my unruly eyebrows. In fact, the above was how I looked like almost everyday – sans makeup, except for concealer! Don’t you just love how natural looking my brows are, wouldn’t even have guessed it was emboridered right? 😉
