Okay well the last one might not be so exciting, but I’m a December baby, so I’ll be holding on to 29 for as long as I can for now! Well at the very least, I’m DETERMINED not to look 30, and this skincare range by Mary Kay has definitely been coming in handy so far!
“I envisioned a company in which any woman could become just as successful as she wanted to be. The doors would be wide open to opportunity for women who were willing to pay the price and had the courage to dream.”
The Pore Minimizer claims to significantly reduce the visible number of pores and give you close-up-confident skin (Reference). After using it for about 3 weeks, I can’t say I see any visible difference, but then again huge pores aren’t really a big concern for me. However, it smells really nice so I have no qualms using it. I usually use this immediately after cleansing.
This tiny little bottle here packs quite a punch! The Day Solution, or, in less fancy terms, sunscreen, contains SPF 35, which is enough for our daily wear here in sunny-most-of-the-time Singapore. From the picture, it’s evident that the sunscreen is of a slightly runny consistency, which is perfect for facial use as it doesn’t lather on too thick, and doesn’t leave an annoying white film all over your face. I like that it’s a compact little bottle as well, which makes it perfect for traveling!
The Night Solution seems pretty unique, not only because it’s the only product of the seven that runs clear, but also because there are Nutribeads® microcapsules within that contain highly effective antioxidants essential for skin’s renewal process. (Reference) Again, I can’t say if it has made any significant difference to my skin, and the beads seem to be more a novelty than anything, but it smells good and feels good, so why not?
Ah, the Age-Fighting Moisturizer. This is the only product that I have a love-hate relationship with. The moisturizer is really effective! It’s airy, almost watery, and makes my skin feel really supple. BUT the soapy smell is way too strong for me! I spoke to a friend who uses the same moisturizer and she doesn’t seem to have a problem with the smell, so maybe it’s just me? I would still recommend it, because once applied the smell doesn’t really linger, but the boyfie does have a bit of an issue with it, so I try not to use too much, lol.
Rounding off the range, we have the TimeWise Body Smooth-Action Cellulite Gel Cream. I haven’t been using this product judiciously, so I can’t really tell if my skin is indeed firmer and tighter like what the bottle promises. However, this is the NICEST-SMELLING product of all! It smells of grapefruit to me, and is enough reason for me to slather it all over my body – even the areas that aren’t that cellulite-prone! It makes me smell super fruity and summery, and I love how light it is! Definitely recommend this, even if you don’t have cellulite. (PLEASE LET ME KNOW YOUR SECRET IF YOU DON’T)
Overall, the Mary Kay Timewise range is really promising. UNFORTUNATELY, they conduct testing on animals because they’ve entered the mainland Chinese market, which mandates that all products go through animal testing. This was a massive bummer to me when I found out, because… just WHY use animals?? I don’t really want to go into all of that here, because it’s a little controversial, and this has already been a really long post in itself, but I am seriously disappointed because all the products seem quite decent. Ah well, if you’ve stuck with me all the way up to here, thank you so much for reading!
