For the hopeless romantic who love decorating her life with floral bouquets in full bloom; she admires their elegant shapes, vibrant colors, gorgeous scent that make them very attractive decorating objects that invokes special happy memories despite a hectic day ahead. Classified as a fresh sparkling floral scent, its cute perfume bottle is adorned with golden ornaments of roses and dragonflies (with a bud-shaped stopper) complements the composition perfectly with a signature Anna Sui touch. I’ve always have a weakness for Anna Sui’s perfume bottles and Romantica did not fail to impress!
Top notes: Mandarin, Pomegranate, Calabrian Bergamot and Quince
Heart notes: Rose de Mai, Peony, Jasmine, Water Lily, Orange Blossom and Osmanthus
Base notes: Indonesian Sandalwood, Amber, White Ceylon Cedarwood and Creamy Musk
I haven’t owned such a fruity perfume in a very long time and it brings such nostalgic memories of my teenage years! The opening notes reminded me of Sui Love (a perfume that Anna Sui has long discontinued, sadly) which is very bright and playful, before quickly settling to the floral heart and wood-and-musky base. For an EDT, the longevity of the base is definitely there with its strong musky silage – how much you eventually like this perfume will really depend on how much of a “musk” fan you are. Overall, I would have preferred for the sweetness to last much longer before settling to the musky base so quickly. But it is good to know that the charming floral notes are still there, mischievously playing hide and seek with your every whiff just like how Romantica is trying to convey 😉
