Let’s just say it was never easy dating this precious Ruby of mine. Our timings always clash and when we finally do meetup, it had to pour so heavily that I couldn’t even get a single taxi.. no matter which app I used or cmpy I called. T.T But we were so determined to meetup by hook or by crook. This means even when our brunch date turned into lunch date. Patrons of Wheeler’s Yard always post such hipster cool photos on instagram, so it naturally becomes one of the cafes I must visit in Singapore. This Bicycle Atelier combines both a workshop and cafe together, definitely a very nice ambience to chillax with your mates.
Wheeler’s Yard is really spacious, with plenty of seats but the menu is as common as all the other hipster cafes out there – no “wow” factor to tempt me into trying something unique. Since you can’t go wrong with bottled drinks and cheese fries, why not let’s jump straight into the mains. How can a beef patty go so wrong right? It’s beyond me… all I tasted was just black pepper and nothing else. Basically, the burger was so bland and dry that I couldn’t even finish it. The big breakfast fared slightly better. Then again it should be, for something so simple that costs $16.90. All for the novelty but none to impress. So here’s another cafe to cross off my list and never to patronize again.
